Somebody Finally Wins the $1.787 Billion Powerball Jackpot

The USD $1.787 billion jackpot will be divided between two tickets that were sold in Missouri and Texas and matched all six numbers in last night's Powerball draw.

One-Time Payment

What are the winning numbers?  Red Powerball 17, white balls 11, 23, 44, 61, and 62.  The multiplier for Power Play was two.

A lump sum payment of $410.3 million or an annuitized reward of USD $893.5 million, both before taxes, are available to each winner.

The winner will receive one immediate payment after 29 annual payments that grow by 5% each year if they select the annuity option.

The $1.8 billion jackpot

The second-largest jackpot ever won in the United States was that sum.  The world record USD $2.04 billion Powerball jackpot won in California in 2022 topped the list.

“Each $2 ticket sold during this Powerball jackpot run gave players a chance at the prize, while also supporting vital public programs and services in their communities,” said Matt Strawn, Powerball Product Group Chair and Iowa Lottery CEO.

The Multi-State Lottery Association is in charge of 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands that offer Powerball.

Last night's Powerball draw was the 42nd since the jackpot was last won in California on May 31, 2025, setting a new record for the longest jackpot run in the history of the game.  The Powerball jackpot is reset to USD $20 million after the significant win.

Statistics on Jackpockets

Jackpocket released some intriguing data on Powerball play last week, prior to yesterday's draw, showing the high level of enthusiasm as the jackpot kept growing.

Jackpocket had a daily rise in Powerball ticket sales of more than 130% on Wednesday.  During this Powerball run, the states with the most Powerball ticket orders utilizing Jackpocket were Massachusetts, New York, and New Jersey.
